Blue Demons U13A boys team were victorious in the U13A championship final against Ballincollig after a very good match between two good teams. Ballincollig started the stronger and were leading at the end of the first quarter and continued to lead into the second quarter but our lads pushed hard in the final minutes of the half to reduce the deficit to 2 points (23-21).

Brian and Tony Foley’s troops really upped the tempo on the defensive end after half time and increased their scoring rate to take the lead and were 4 points up at the end of the 3rd quarter on a scoreline of 33-29.

Demons continued their momentum in the 4th quarter as our lads upped it again with some very tough full court defense forcing multiple turnovers and great scoring from Mathew McCarthy, Jack O’Leary and Colin Hannigan but all the team can be very proud of themselves as they ran out winners on a score line of 44 points to 35 after a very good sporting game.

Our U13 team are on their travels this weekend as they go to Titans of Galway on Saturday for an U13 invitational tournament.

Next up in the championship semi finals are our U14 team on Friday night at 7.30pm in the Parochial Hall as we look to get 4 of our A teams to the finals in January as our U12A, U13A & U16A have already booked their finals spot.
