The last couple of weeks have seen a high volume of activity with lots of games. Our U16A game put in a great performance last Wednesday night against Neptune in the U16 league as they push to qualify for the AICC’s. Our lads started with intent and pushed hard in the 1st half to lead 40-13. They kept up the pressure to extend the lead to 67-23 end of the 3rd and closed out the 4th quarter winning 95-30. They continued their winning run beating Limerick Lions on Friday night again playing a high standard of basketball.
On Sunday morning(9-Feb), we hosted 3 very entertaining home games in the Parochial Hall. Our U10’s displayed all their skills against Ballincollig with some great passing and shooting. On the other court, our U12’s continued their improvement playing against Ballincollig also, our lads were 8-4 up end of the 1st and continued to lead winning on a score line of 30-15 after very good defense.
Next up @ 11am were our U14 team against Carrigaline. Our U14’s had a good win away to Fr Mathews on Saturday. Carrigaline started strong to lead 10-5 end of the 1st, our u14s improved in the 2nd quarter to push Carrigaline hard to leave the score line 21-16 at half time. Jim Sull motivated the team at half time and our lads came out with intent to reduce the deficit to 3 points(24-27). Our lads continued to push hard in the 4th quarter but the ball just wouldn’t drop after a great effort and Carrigaline ran out winners 37-30.
