Our top of the table clash against Thunder did not disappoint and it ended with us pulling out a gutsy win on the road. As a game it might not of been the greatest spectacle but for overall drama it had everything you would expect from the two best teams in the country. The first 32 minutes saw both teams trade blows and go on big runs throughout where we could not keep a lead for any substantial length of time. The one thing in our favor throughout this period was we did not let Thunder take the lead. Between minutes 32 and 36 we totally took over the game. We were able to hold Thunder scoreless while racking up 15 points of our own. This power play sealed the victory for us and puts the league in our own hands. The game showed all our fighting qualities. We get a lot of praise for the way we play but the foundation to that is the heart, desire, determination and the willingness of each member of the squad to put their bodies on the line for the good of the team. The plays that go unnoticed and don’t appear on stat sheets are also the plays that win teams games so from that point of view everyone was excellent. While delighted with the victory we still have a long way to go until the end of the season and we will continue to prepare to the best of our ability to help continue putting in good performances on the weekends
