UCC Demons are pleased to announce that Tim O’Halloran has been appointed as the successor to Colin O’Reilly as Head Coach to Blue Demons Superleague team UCC Demons. Tim has been involved in the coaching structure of the Blue Demons club over the last number of years having coached at underage level initially, He was assistant to Colin during his first season at the helm with UCC Demons in 2013/14 winning both the National Cup and Champions Trophy. He took over the Head Coaches position with the clubs Div. 1 National League team in 2014/15 and guided them to National Cup success. Last season he again brought them to another Div.1 National Cup final only to come up short. Tim has been exposed to the game at the top level playing with UCC Demons at Superleague for 9 years and with the National League Div.1 team for a further 5 so he is well aware of what is required and demanded by the Demons supporters. Tim is an employee of the Mardyke Arena home to UCC Demons so he has an added incentive to continue the successful trend the UCC Demons have enjoyed over the past number of years. The Club Executive wishes Tim well in his endeavours as he hopes to build on the success the club has had in the last number of years.

Tim O Halloran

“I would like to thank the club for giving me this great opportunity. It was one that I couldn’t turn down as its gives me the chance to work for the club I love and to coach the best players in Ireland which will be very exciting. I’m looking forward to getting started in pre-season and installing the type of basketball I would like us to play and hopefully going on to a successful season. I’d like to welcome Shane McCarthy as my assistant and Pat Keane as team manager, who I am sure are as excited as I am about the coming season.
