DCU Saints 64 – C&S UCC Demons 78.

Two wins in two days sets us up nicely for next weekends clash with Killester. Our game against Templeogue was all about run and gun guard play. They do a very good job of spacing the floor but we resisted their challenge in the 4th and ended up convincing winners. The game then against DCU was the complete opposite. It was a slow it down game where our 3 bigs were like animals on the glass and really set the tone with their physicality. After our excellent second quarter where we held them to 7 points we were always comfortable and finished out the game in business like manner.
For us the weekend was very beneficial as we got to see various different line ups against teams that play different styles. We played 6 good quarters out of the 8 and also had different players step up to the plate at different times. Like all our away trips players really pulled together and had that us against the world mentality that helped us when the games got tough. A quick thank you to the fans as well who made the trip. It’s always nice to see family members and girlfriends supporting the team. For us now it’s a case of fine tuning our play this week for the challenge ahead. We will take it one day at a time and prepare as normal. For now after our hectic schedule it’s more about rest and recovery rather than long hard sessions.
