Our U13 Boys matched our U12’s after completing a clean sweep of CCB trophies after a great overtime victory over a talented and taller Ballincollig team tonight in the final game of the CCB juvenile season before a large crowd in the Parochial Hall. Our lads have now won the league, championship, tournament and top 4 competitions in Cork after a great season.
In a tight first half, Brian and Tony Foley’s troops just about edged it at half time to lead 18-16. The scoring tempo increased in the 3rd quarter as Ballincollig lead 35-32. The 4th quarter was a great exhibition of basketball with both teams giving their all as Ballincollig stretched the lead to 5 points early but our boys refused to give up and managed to retake the initiative to lead by 2 points with just over 30 seconds to go only for Ballincollig to level it in the final seconds to force overtime (43-43).
In overtime, our lads dug deep again and played some exceptional basketball on both ends of the floor as they battled hard to run out winners on a scoreline of 52-47.
