Blue Demons U18’s beat UCD Marian in preliminary round of the National Cup shield competition today (23-Jan) in the Parochial Hall. Demons started well and lead 16-9 at the end of the 1st quarter after some good defense.

Conor Deasy and Dylan Brickley’s troops upped the scoring in the 2nd quarter to lead 42-35 after some great individual scores from Dylan Brickley and James Beckom.

The 3rd quarter was a real battle as Marian got it back to 42-41 early in the 3rd quarter but our lads regained composure to get their scoring momentum back to lead 62-53 after a very strong finish to the quarter.

The fourth quarter continued to be a tight affair as Marian gambled to get back into the game but Demons ran out winners on a scoreline of 79-70 to advance to the next round where we will play Killester.
