U18’s reach National Cup Semi Finals

Blue Demons U18’s juveniles qualified for the semi finals of the U18 National Cup shield after victory over Phoenix BC of Belfast this morning(6-Mar). Our lads started with pace and intensity and lead 28-15 at the end of the 1st quarter with some great blocks from Robert Cahill. Our scoring tempo slowed in the second quarter but Demons still maintained a healthy lead at half time(44-30). Scoring continued to slow in the third quarter but we scored some great fast breaks with James Beckom and Dylan Brickley to the fore to increase the lead to 58-42. Conor Deasy and David Brickley’s troops kept the lead throughout the 4th quarter after some great hustle from Ethan Hurley, Jamie Thompson and Adam Lordan to run out winners on a scoreline of 74-65. Our next opponents in the semi final will be our local rivals Ballincollig.

Our U12’s & U13’s were on the road over the last few days. Our U13’s traveled to Mallow last Wednesday night in a top of the table clash and started in rapid fashion to lead 21-8. Our lads kept up the momentum throughout to gain a great away win on a scoreline of 58-30. Our U12’s traveled to Limerick on Saturday to face Limerick Lions and they maintained their unbeaten season with victory. Our U13’s were also in action in Youghal on Saturday afternoon with another away victory as they look to be getting closer to the U13A league title.
