UCC Demons travel away for the 5th game in a row to take on KUBS

Tim O’Halloran, UCC Demons Head Coach:
We travel away for the 5th game in a row to the national arena this Sunday to take on KUBS in what is classed as a home game for us. Going into the game on the back of 3 successive losses, the lads have really trained hard all week. The league position is not where we imagined but we just have to keep plugging away. Last week was the worst performance of the season and we deserved the pasting we got. Take nothing away from Thunder who shot the lights out, but we cannot turn the ball over the way we did against any team in the league let alone one of the better teams. No doubt Kyle (Hosford) has been a major loss to us as he would to any team in the league but this opens up more opportunities for other guys. Roy (Downye), Adrian (O’Sulivan) and Liam (Carmody) all need to respond at the guard position after a poor showing last week in Swords. Ciaran (O’Sulivan)and Niall (Murphy) will need to knock down shots to open things up for everyone. Ronan (O’Sulivan), Shane Buckley and Carleton Cuff need to be stronger on the glass this week, and knock down the open looks they are getting. Conor (Ryan) has been pushing these guys hard the last few weeks and is eager for an opportunity. Jacob (Lawson) will be looked upon to get his scoring touch back staying out of foul trouble so he can be aggressive will be a big test especially against a rugged HUBS team. Looking forward to getting the win and playing next week back in the Mardyke in front of the fans for the first time after a 7 week gap!! Congrats also to Conor (Ryan) on making the Irish under 20 panel during the week.
