Juvenile Boys vs Ballincollig Update

Blue Demons Juvenile Boys hosted 4 games against some very talented Ballincollig teams on Sunday morning in the Parochial Hall (1st Dec). Blue Demons played U11/U12/U14 & U16 league games with very strong performances from our juvenile teams and a good standard of basketball on show from all teams involved.

Our U11s were first on court with a very strong showing from our lads who played some excellent basketball and played hard throughout under the coaching of Craig Duggan and William McCarthy. Some great performances from all but standout performances from John O’Sullivan, Daryl Cuffe, Derek Foley and the Murphy brothers Eoin and Conor.

Our U14s coached by David and Troy were next up and were pushed hard in the first half by Ballincollig but eventually ran out winners on a 77-33 scoreline with very good performances throughout the team and were greatly helped by the performance of EJ Albino on both ends of the court.

Our U12’s were next on court at 11am and the game was tight in the first half but Demons upped the tempo at the start of the 2nd half and were 33-13 up at the end of the 3rd and ran out winners on a scoreline of 42-22. All players played well with great performances throughout with Dylan Hayes, Anthony Butler and Colin Hannigan excelling. Next up for Stephen Hannigan’s U12 team is a championship game against Neptune on Tuesday night (3rd Dec) at 6:15pm where all support would be greatly appreciated and our U12’s also compete in the CCB U12 tournament next Saturday (7th Dec) in the Parochiall Hall.

Our U16’s were next up against a talented Ballincollig team who were missing their 2 big men but Brian Foley’s team were well up for it on the day. The first quarter was tight with both teams going basket for basket but Demons defense tightened at the start of the second half and lead 40-17 at half time with some great fast break play. Demons continued to push the tempo in the 3rd quarter to lead 59-24 at the end of this quarter. Demons continued their tough defense and scoring to run out winners on a scoreline of 88-28.

Our U16’s will now step up their preparations for their championship semi final game on the 10th Dec @ 7:15pm and the U16 CCB tournament on the 14th of December.

Dave Lehane’s U13’s also play a championship semi final this Friday night(6th Dec) at 6:15pm against St Anthony’s.
