The Parochial Hall was the place to be this morning with 3 very good home games for our juvenile boys with our U10, U12 & U14 teams in action.
First up were our U14A team against Neptune. The teams were level at 12 each end of the 1st quarter. Demons pushed outscored Neptune 15.10 in the 2nd 2nd qtr to lead at half time 27.22. Neptune levelled the game in the 3rd quarter with a minute to go and went ahead at the end of the quarter by 2. Our lads were outscored 11-4 in the final quarter which gave Neptune the win 49.41 after a very good game.
Our U10’s coached by Colin Naughton were next in action as both teams played some exciting basketball with both teams displaying their talents throughout as they played the full hour.
Our final game of the morning saw our U12A team vs. Limerick Lakers. Both teams started well and were level at 11 each at the end of the first quarter. Our lads upped the tempo in the 2nd qtr to outscore the Lakers 10-6 to lead time 18-14 at half time after some good defense and passing. Demons again pushed the tempo in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 28-18. Demons kept it going in the 4th quarter to run out winners 42-28 after a very impressive performance from our lads who have shown great improvement since the start of the season. Well done to all the players and coaches Dave Lehane and Brian Horgan. Keep it going lads!
Both our U16 teams are in action in the hall this coming Tuesday (U16A vs. Balincollig & U16B vs. Skibereen). Our U12A are back in action next Friday night(9th Feb) at 6:15pm vs. Carrigaline before they play in the CCB U12 tournament on Saturday. Our U14’s are also in action next Saturday (10th Feb) with a 5:15pm tip off away to Ballincollig.
