Colin O’Reilly, C&S UCC Demons Head Coach

It is that time of year again where the first game of the season is finally upon us. We have put in the hard work during pre-season. The lads returned in good shape which made it all the easier during our speed and conditioning sessions on the Mardyke track. We have a different roster with different skill sets so we adopted a different approach to our pre-season this year to try get the most out of the weapons at our disposal.

Another boost for us was our ability to fit 8 games into the pre-season. Although they were not of the highest intensity it was important for us to work against other teams to help our progression. The 8 wins we recorded while working on various lineups and strategies means we have built up a bit of confidence while integrating the new players and coach into the system.

For us the first game brings a lot of excitement and the fact it is Neptune will add. Bit more spice amongst the fans. It is too early to know where either team is at or how the game will go but as like all derby games I’m sure it will be entertaining.
