This past weekend the legendary Seanie Murphy was inducted into the Basketball Ireland Coaching Hall of Fame in Galway. Seanie currently runs our Academy programme but has been involved in the game of basketball since the mid 1950’s. He has played and coached at the highest level both nationally and internationally with the Blue Demons Club and Ireland.
His coaching achievements with the club are legendary having won the Men’s Premier League in 1984, he then went on to developing our next crop of Demons players and has been to the forefront in developing many of the present all conquering C&S UCC Demons team.
Any Sunday morning you can watch him at the Demons Academy working with players from age five to eight. He will run special sessions for individuals and teams to help them improve both as players and as a team. The proof of his coaching ability is the record of UCC Demons having won 12 national trophies since 2002.
