Blue Demons U16A’s clinched the U16A league title after a play off victory over Neptune tonight(29-Mar) before a large attendance in the Parochial Hall. Dave Lehane and Dermot Looney’s troops started on fire and had a sizable lead at the end of the 1st quarter(27-11) after really pushing the pace.
Our tempo and scoring rate slowed in the second quarter as Neptune improved but our lads managed to maintain the lead into half time – 39-34.
Both teams went for it in the 3rd quarter with lads injured on both teams as recent battles started to show but Demons extended the lead in this quarter(57-46) as our lads finished the quarter very strongly with everybody contributing.
The 4th quarter was another tough battle but our lads battled hard to clinch victory on a scoreline of 69 points to 62 as James Beckom was very glad to lift the League Trophy. This was a real team victory with everybody giving their all.

Hopefully there is more to follow with the focus now switching to the Top 4 and AICC in April.
