Congratulations to our U18s who yesterday won the U18 Michael Heffernan tournament in the Parochial Hall. Coached by David Murphy & Carleton Cuff, our lads gave it their all to win the tournament outright after a great day of basketball. It was great to see 17 teams from all over the country get back into action after over a year without action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Demons won their pool after wins over Killester (42-31) & St Brendan’s Tralee (44-33). In the quarter finals against Eanna of Dublin, the game went to the wire but our lads won 55-47 after a tough game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the semis finals against Tralee Imperials, our lads again played tough defence to win 46-29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Demons played a very fancied & talented Templeogue of Dublin in the final and started strong to be 16-9 up at the end of the 1st quarter. The 2nd & 3rd quarters were very tight with both teams going basket for basket and Templogue managed to get it back to a 1 point deficit but our lads again dug deep with a great defensive effort to win 46-32 after a very tough & long day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was great to see basketball return in style but also remembering Billy Coffey who was and will continue to be sorely missed by all the basketball community. RIP Billy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
