“We got under way this weekend with a very difficult trip away to Kilkenny. The lads have put in a huge effort over the last 8 weeks in training and were really looking forward to this game. We travelled up with 12 players and every one of them played a huge part in a 83-74 victory. As it was our first competitive game as a unit I was really pleased the way the lads went about their business. This year we have a few of last year\u2019s team with a few new addition\u2019s, we are playing a totally different type off basketball, there is no one guaranteed playing time and there is no one going to be playing 30 minutes, but when you\u2019re in I expect 100% and thats what I got Saturday night, If we keep that up and keep training like we are we will have an exciting year”<\/p>\n
On The Season Ahead<\/p>\n
“I am really looking forward to the coming season where \u00a0i get the great opportunity to coach the regional league team.Last year was a very good year for me as assistant to Colin where i learned an awful lot from him.This season i will be taking a lot from what i learned off Colin and with my own views on how i want us to play put them into practice from the start.I have also asked Brian Foley to assist me for the year and with his knowledge i will be listening to everything he has to say.We will have a panel of around 14 players and going trough the names i am exited about working with them as the are a great bunch of lads and most importantly I hope we can compete for all competitions”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
