Congratulations to our U16A team tonight who won the CCB U16A Championship after a solid performance in the Parochial Hall against Limerick Lions. The game started slowly with Demons holding a slight lead (10-9) at the end of the 1st quarter. Coached by David Lehane and D Looney, our lads picked up the pace scoring wise in the 2nd quarter to lead 29-17 at half time. Demons continued to play solid defense and kept scoring tempo going to extend their lead to 41-22. Our lads kept the pressure up in the 4th quarter to win the championship on a scoreline of 63-41 with Sean Murphy picking up the trophy as team captain.<\/p>\n
On a special note, Vernon Scully also made a welcome return to the court last night playing in the final last night after a tough 12 months out with injury, well done Vernon and welcome back!<\/p>\n
Congrats to coaches and players on another trophy for this talented group.<\/p>\n
